Hate this manipulative system! No matter how many points you get by playing daily you're at the mercy of mystery boxes or mystery boxes disguised as a wheel. Even if you spend a lot of money you can't be free to get what you want.
You might end with too many trees but not enough fences.
All clearly rigged to bleed us dry, particularly those who are impatient or like to have "complete" towns.
Since this clever money grabbing system started I have implemented one of my own: I won't spend any donuts in mboxes or wheels. I only use donuts for the item I chose. NO GAME OF CHANCE, thank you very much.
I agree with a previous poster, EA's devs wouldn't like to leave their pay cheques to chance. Would they?
Pity that greed is spoiling an update with so many fun new things.
I'm glad someone agrees with me about that. No one would want to MAYBE get what they payed for. It's just plain stupidity. If we wanted to gamble our money away we have casinos for that where the returns are actually worth something in the real world!AJtheboss1 wrote:

If prizes weren't chance based then everybody would complain that the events are too easy and over too quick.
That never happened so I don't know where you got that from. Again probably a newbie...
(I don't mean that in an offensive way)
If you don't mean it in an offensive way, then perhaps you could use a less offensive term.Khodro wrote:

I'm sorry...
You must be a new player.
...better
If I wanted to be offensive I would've used other words. I'm not looking for a fight on here. I'm just surprised that people actually want to waste there time on chance. It also surprises me that newer players talk about this particular subject like they know this game inside out. Again not trying to offensive just stating the obvious, that's all.AJtheboss1 wrote:

You do realize that there are other games/websites that uses similar mechanism right?fluffling wrote:
I pressed no, but only once
I think what EA shoudl do is do a wheel or whatever with buildings, characters and any other things you cna only have once, then everytime you get an item it goes off and is just blank
after all the pieces are left blnk they're filled with unlimited decorations
I don't know if that made sense?
Makes perfect sense, and I like the idea.
Back on topic of the poll, I did vote "I don't" and can say the most likely reason people who voted as me haven't responded, is they figure they will get attacked for voicing their opinion against the majority of posters in this thread.
My reasoning is, I don't see this as much random chance as the Christmas and V'day wheels were. It may seem far fetched, and right now may seem impossible, but the prizes are guaranteed at the latest after 81 boxes of each color. I know right now that seems impossible, but the event just started, and nobody knows what we will see when the quest line is finished. We may have 1/4/8 hour tasks that reward donuts (just speculation) giving us more donuts than we know what to do with, allowing us to leave them in neighbors baskets who need them.
they may find 80 boxes is too many and as somebody mentioned, they have been known to change requirements. But until the even gets further along, and we see how the 80 blue/pink/gold boxes works out for the guaranteed items, I will stand by my vote that I like the event, and the way the boxes are done.
** I do reserve the right to change my mind if the 80 box guarantee items turn out to be impossible to get **
On a side note, I do not like the completely random wheels. I have a feeder town which I was not able to complete the V'day wheel on, and my main town wouldn't have finished the wheel without spending donuts for hearts.
The Christmas event I was lucky enough to get everything in both towns.Khodro wrote:

The only people who had harsh responses were people saying things that just simply didn't make sense. If you read what I said earlier about putting work in and only having a chance at a return you'd see why this system is a flop. But you are entitled to your opinion. If you find this fun and putting work into something for a chance then by all means go ahead. I only wish you luck on winning everything.Distracty wrote:
I spent a bunch of donuts (didn't learn from last time, apparently) on eggs, and what did it get me? A bunch of PONDS and FENCES!!!
So sick of this garbage! How much money and/or time do they expect me to WASTE to potentially NOT get Sherry Bobbins or any of the other REAL prizes.
Seriously considering sitting the rest of this one out. One thing is certain: I will NOT be buying/spending any more donuts for this event.
Take note, EA! I'm not wasting any more money on your garbage game!
You spent donuts in the first 24 hours of the event and because you didn't instantly get Sherry Bobbins you think the game's garbage?
:?- I'd rather earn something for my hard work and feeling satisfaction, rather than being unlucky and feeling disappointed.
