Why was Christmas Day not recognised this year?

They gave us Maggie for Christmas.

I didn't get Maggie.
I'm more bothered about the fact that Christmas wasn't marked in anyway. They didn't even mention it, this has been done every other year & it happens for other events such as thanksgiving, Halloween etc. Why no recognition of Christmas day? Error or oversight?

I believe that it was neither error or oversight, but instead was intentional. The pass for this event for visiting neighbors is called the Winter Pass, not the Christmas pass. And the event is called Winter 2015 rather than Christmas 2015. I think it follows a move by many other corporations in America to go away from Christmas, because it is considered a Christian Holiday, and more towards just simply Happy Holidays or something that is not tied to any religion. Which is also weird because they recognized other religious holidays recently. But just my opinion.

They still could have had a simple dialogue bubble ( from Ned or Rev) saying a simple "Merry Christmas" on the actual day. Ignoring the day completely is taking political correctness too far, imho.

Not sure why it's so difficult to just call it what it is. Christmas is Christmas, that's never changing.

Not at all surprised. The biggest giveaway about how the developers felt regarding religion was when they released the first church of lard lad, which basically mocked Christianity.

Still waiting for a building or character to be released that mocks Islam... Or any other religion, for that matter. I won't hold my breath. It's OK though, because as a Christian and a Constitutionalist, I believe you're entitled to atheist views and I won't kill you for disagreeing with mine... like members of other unmocked and nameless religion(s) might.

But, they can do what they want. The reason for the Christmas season is religion, whether or not a few people acknowledge that fact is irrelevant. It does make me giggle how they go out of their way to avoid linking this event to a religious holiday.
