WINNING!
Not quite true. Lissa is delusional but this is not shown by anything that she has written here :D
Spiff, I believe that you must now be rubber and Lissa glue? Have I got this expression right at long last?
You, sir, are no longer my hero.
Meanie.
I'm taking my toys and going to pout in the corner. Where's H1 with his massive tongue smilie?
He was saying something about sleep. Not sure why. I don't need it.Calerock wrote:
I'm just saying they HAVE to be on task.
I know that is true 100%.
disagree. I left all of my characters off task overnight (because I thought they had to be off) and I awoke to plenty of valentines. I have received them from on and off task characters.hokieborn wrote:

Yup - on my second springfield I left characters off task and they still received valentines.
The only required thing appears to be that the receiver collects valentines from visitors. If not, that character is "blocked" from receiving further valentines. I really notice this on the few friends I have that are lower level and don't have many characters - they almost never have a free valentine for me to tap - I often have to come back two or three times to them.hokieborn wrote:

This (and spiff's) confuses me. I have not been able to collect anything from "off task" characters when I've tested between my accounts, and I'm switching as fast as possible to guard against a friend sneaking in very fast. Either way, the task-less characters have no valentine's when I return to the task-less city.
(Edited to add: I have been collecting Valentines from characters when their tasks are over, but I'm just assuming they were tapped during their task.)Calerock wrote:
I visited all my 100 friends.
And the towns with characters not in tasks, I couldn't send them a card.
That has nothing to do with it. More likely what you are seeing is the towns with characters not on task have characters not on task because the person who owns that town is not visiting it, so all their characters have already been sent a valentine.
Once they have a valentine, no one else can send them one! The owners of those towns MUST collect valentines they have already received in order to get more.
Once again, you are seeing a side affect of the inactivity of those people's towns. It's not because the characters are not on task, but because each character ALREADY has a valentine that is "blocking" them from receiving new ones.
Whether or not a character is on task has NOTHING to do with it. What is the governing force is if the character has already received a valentine from another visitor - if so, that character is blocked from receiving further valentines - thats it.Simpsons00001 wrote:

Just to clarify something - when you are visiting you can only "send" valentines via buildings, not via characters. You collect valentines in your springfield from characters. If they happen to be on task in your springfield in a building it may look like you are collecting from the building - you are not. It's the character in the building that causes the valentine(s) to appear.
In my primary springfield I have a "town square" in the portion of my screen that my town opens to with the town hall, police station and Moe's tavern all in view.
I let Quimby go off task, and ensured he was clear of valentines. I visited my primary springfield from my secondary springfield - the town hall offered a valentine. As soon as I collected it from my secondary springfield, quimby got a valentine over his head. So I collected it in my primary springfield. Within moments, I got another visitor and quimby got another valentine over his head. Indeed, if I am actively playing my main springfield because of my town layout I typically get multiple valentines on quimby when playing.
Whether he is on or off task appears to have no bearing. I don't know why you aren't seeing it -Calerock wrote:
I had characters receive 2-3 valentines at once.
Are you sure it's from one character? I've had multiple characters stacked in a building where it could looks like multiple valentines, but in my example above because of where the town hall is quimby is my most popular character for getting valentines and I have never had a multiple from him.- Looks the same way to me. Tasks have nothing to do with it. Tap on a card while visiting and it goes to the character associated with the building. Once a character has a card, they cannot receive another until its collected. I can't explain the people that have gotten multiples on one character. Maybe 2 ppl clicked at the same time? Also if a building has more than one character inside then obviously there could be multiples.
- Just tested between my accounts, and the task-less characters ARE getting Valentine's. This is different than how things were working between my cities last night, and hopefully it won't be different in 24 hours!
Multiple Hearts from one character are most likely the result of friends tapping previously tapped cards in the short "lag period" when a user enters your city and cards are shown before disappearing. jnaugher wrote:

The building tapped has nothing to do with what character you will get it from. I tested it out with mine and my daughters towns. It's really easy to test it because it tells you who have you the valentine. I have actually gotten 2 on one character before also. I've gotten them on buildings with nobody in it (java server) at the time. It seems pretty random to the giving and recieving aspect.
