Doughnuts are getting taken away
I received a donut from hitting the friend icon above the cannon earlier today, logged out and back in and it disappeared.

donuts from the cannon disappear is what ive heard and seen while in my town or other towns.
but tapping anything else in friends towns i have been able to keep thise donuts.
