NRA Bashing doesn't belong in Tapped Out!!!

The game has elements of the show. The show is popular for poking fun at major organizations like the NRA and many others. Don't take it so personal and if you don't want your kids seeing it then don't let them play.
  • Maybe if they didn't use scare tactics to get people to buy guns, The Simpsons wouldn't make fun of them in the first place.
  • I agree berrygr8. I am passionately pro-constitution and while I don't care for the NRA or their tactics, I'm pro-gun and find this new set of quests insulting. Last I knew, the Simpsons writers were largely right-wing politically, so I'm kind of shocked to see this. Even if it were making fun of the other side of the gun debate, I find this kind of dialogue inappropriate, and such political commentary seems out of place for the Simpsons. South Park, yes, because its humor is largely satire....but the Simpsons, no. The Simpsons rely on character humor and this line of writing isn't character driven at all. This writer is using the game to advance their personal political agenda. Unfortunately, they are signing their death sentence for their writing career. Especially with the Simpsons, where they've had 25+ years to adequately flesh out the characters. None of this quests writing fits with any of the characters used. Sign of bad writing!
  • Reading posts like the one from agentkhoff makes me weep. If he insists on his right to bear arms, then i do too and I want to carry a bazooka or have an F15 or an aircraft carrier as my own personal demented interpretation of the so called constitution/

If anything the writers of the dialogue in game are guilty of cheap shots at too easy targets. It's pretty hard to parody something that is a parody in itself.

Get the right permits, and if you have a few million dollars you can buy a Fighter aircraft. For a few billion you can own an aircraft carrier. Pretty expensive though. As for the Bazooka, I know several people who do own one, and guess what none of them have committed a crime. I also know people with Flame throwers and tanks. gain not a single crime among them. And yes I insist on ALL my constitutional rights. without them The USA would not be the nation it is today.

 It's a video game based on a satirical television cartoon... There are bigger things in life to worry about than a quickly passing screen making fun of a current topic. As a Scot I'm not offended as how they portray my heritage with Willie, cause its a CARTOON! And as a satire their comments have done their job; incited a reaction, just like they've been doing for 25 years :D

    I totally agree!

Then if you want to open a debate on this emendament and not on the show, it is a different thing.

I don't think everyone in this forum is american (I am not), and for the majority of european like me that old emendament is just crazy. I don't mean it was crazy at the very first time, when USA needed that for a few reasons (first of all that was no army and no police, still USA was in war against great britain, so USA needed armed citizens), is crazy that you still have that now and the way you defende this "right". No metter how many people die you still think is a good thing. Is like if us (european I mean) still had some old useless and horrifying law of middle ages.
