Very good list to be honest!! I always love the UFC 6 wishlist type of posts because it's interesting to see what everyone thinks needs to be added and/or changed. I believe I made a similar post on here a couple weeks ago. I agreed with most everything on your list. One thing I strongly agree with you on is variations in the striking animations, namely the straights, jabs, and hooks. They should have like 4 or 5 variations of each, and the animations could play out randomly as you throw a combo. Say you throw a jab, jab, cross, lead body hook combo, the first jab could be one jab animation and the second jab could be one of the jab variation animations, maybe less snap on the second one?
I'm one of the people who have been strongly pushing for fighter uniqueness, adding fighter specific animations. Machida's switch kick for example, and Anderson Silvas front kick that KOed Belfort. Give McGregor his own left hand animations, Dan Henderson his H bomb, etc. Karate guys shouldn't be throwing the same looking kicks as a wrestler or a Muay Thai fighter. This is one area where EA UFC really lacks. There's really no incentive to use most of the 200+ roster guys if they all fight the same. I was playing EA MMA a couple nights ago and thoroughly enjoying using Nick Diaz because they really nailed his punches, where it's more of a pawing motion. Just the fact that he truly feels unique makes me want to use him and fight like he does IRL.
I'm also really, really hoping for a revamped ground game. It's essentially been the same since UFC 2. I feel like not enough attention is given to the ground game. Need more ground positions, need cage interaction, need to add back in all the submissions that were removed from previous games. Need to be able to rain down elbows and hammerfists, not just throw one and then posture down. Id love for the ground game to actually feel interesting enough to want to use a high level grapple. I wish there were a way they could implement wrist control as well but that's probably wishful thinking.
I really feel like UFC 4 and 5 were a huge step down from UFC 2 and 3. Id love to see the next game feel like an improved version of UFC 3. The striking truly felt rewarding, none of this rockem sockem, drop em 25 times in a fight and they keep getting back up. Counters need to feel more punishing. Same with using head movement blindly and slipping right into a hook or head kick. Not every fight needs to be a 5 round blood bath. Id rather the fights feel more like a chess match and less like Rocky 4.
