EA SPORTS™ WRC - Patch 2.1.0 Discussion Thread

Our team is investigating an issue where players are experiencing crashes after purchasing the EA SPORTS™ WRC 24 Bundle. As soon as I have more information I will update you.

The new locations, tracks and vehicles are great fun and look good too. I haven't had any technical problems so far. (PC Win11, GF 4070 Ti Super, Fanatec)

But: Driving at night still looks just as bad as it did almost a year ago.

Headlights and shadows:
- Solid bodies, walls, trees, fences etc still don't cast any perceptible shadows on the landscape
- the headlights themselves are barely visible - like a Zippo in a dark, foggy night - while the reflections themselves dazzle for miles around

- tracks, surfaces glisten in high contrast when driving at night
- despite autumn in Poland, it still doesn't seem to get really dark at night, it looks more like a late sunset
- even steep slopes three meters deep are still brightly illuminated despite a wall, physically only explainable by strong gravity (black holes^^)
- everything in every view while driving, in replay and in photo mode

In Dirt Rally (1.0) there were even volumetric headlight cones in fog or haze, shadows from trees, crash barriers etc moved correctly over surfaces and there were lens flares or blooming on the headlights. Oh yes, there were also barriers falling over in the replay.

It would be cool if there were improvements everywhere. The UE is capable of this, I tried it out, even with version 4.

I have exactly this problem. No game launch possible after buying the dlc. Before buying the DLC, version 2.1.0 started properly.

The game doesn't run after new update, tried reinstall and verified cash. There are same issues on steam discussions page. We couldn't solve this. I've not bought new dlc, try to run vanilla version

Crash at splash screen too.

NOW ITS 2 DAYS SINCE THE PATCH. I PAYED FOR THE DLC AND MY GAME IS STILL BROKEN. EA YOU FIX THIS OR US ALL MONEY BACK!

Could you please answer whether openXR will be natively supported through open composite or is anti cheat just that much of a bully?

When I start this particular stage from the cockpit view I come across grass in the middle of the tarmac but when I start from the view behind the car the problem does't occur. It hasn't been fixed since the game was released and I have reported this problem several times.

Probably, issue because of installed cryptoPro application. This solution helped me and other guys, try it.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\CProExclude). If it exists, you should add two folders inside this path, EA WRC and EA Anticheat (names do not matter). Inside these folders you should create string paramater with name "FileName" and values "WRC.exe" and "EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe" respectively (without quotes). Reboot and enjoy.
