Fanatec Podium DD1 & 2

Has anyone noticed there is a graining feeling in the Fanatec Podium DD2 when you make quick left to right movements, also have a friend that has a DD1 having same feeling is it something that can be fixed in wheel settings?

  • No, I don't have this grainy feeling. Maybe it's your in game FFB setting.

I have Wheel Friction = Weight  reduced to 20, it's like a constant damper.

The Tyre Friction = Understeer Feeling is down to 10 I'm not 100% sure but it seems a smaller value is a faster or stronger drop in SAT force on the wheel.

I wish they would give clear information what each value changes in FFB feel. E.g. T10 - Forza Motorsport has published a really good article about their FFB.

Also an in game FFB graph would be useful to see clipping etc.

  • I'm using the csl dd (8nm) and I have the same grainy / rattling feeling in my wheel.

It seems to be connected to  the tyre friction setting. It's noticeable from around 25 and upwards.

I use it at around 45, with self aligning at 75.

That give me a good feeling of what the tyres are doing, while also helping the wheel self correct.

I would love if they removed the vibration part of the tyre friction setting, (of that is what's causing the unbearable rattling/graining), and leave the force feedback part the way it is.

It is almost gamebreaking with the constant graining, while absolutely necessary, in my Opinion, to balance the overall force feedback with the tyre friction settings.
