As a Dirt Rally titles fan and not fan of WRC titles, I would say this WRC is a nice mix between them two... Its a better WRC title then they used to be but I still miss a lot of game loving things Dirt Rally series had.. My perfect game would have been WRC 10% DR 90%, everything as DR2.0 but with actual WRC cars and tracks... so these are my suggestions, basically, to bring them back from DR:
- I miss collision objects. Bring back deformation barriers, get rid of those traffic signs attached to the earth core and transparent bushes.. dyk all these made DR one of a kind game?
- I miss credits and career mode were more involved like in DR. Now is a side mode with very much less purpose (credits to spend and earn, evolving car parts and crew, the odometer ment something, daily challenges..) Why should I play it if all cars are available at their finnest state in other game modes?
- I miss lock to horizon view. And in this title more than ever as it has so many humps. Im used to VR and this century back tech of driving looking at a monitor is annoying, worst without this missing feature.
- I miss stats in racenet would tell wich cars and tracks have record so dont have to go one by one searching.. (oh and thanks to bring the telemetry animation back to compare two runs at same time like in DR1 )
- I miss the dirt stages tracks blended better with the environment like in DR..
- I miss the snow barriers in snow stages.. soft, not the iced concrete they are now .
- I miss having the game in my language, spanish, but all voices in english, like in DR series, bc translations always have been so bad, the voices tone and the words used.. this wrc translates "crew" as a ship staff not a racing team.. so clearly translators dont know what they are talking about.. pitty spending resources in so bad translations.
- I miss Phil Mills motion platform stage recording. That gave copilot a real very cool deal, not the plain voices we have now.. and their translations.. even worse
- I miss VR, I red is coming, but it should be already included at launch.
Although I really miss those features, Id say the game modes would give this game to be played a bit.. not as long as it would be a DR3 with wrc actual cars and tacks
I was tempted to return it til VR, but the multiplayer is fun.
