I loved the DirtFish free roam area in Dirt Rally 2.0 and would like to see something like that implemented in WRC too.
It was nice to have a game mode for testing different game settings, car setups, sim gear configurations... etc without any pressure of ticking clock or penalties. You could also practice different techniques, obstacles and surfaces in free roam, while being quite small area there was enough variation for a lot of sandboxing to do.
I really miss having a playground map. One of my favorite things to do in a racing game is simply hoon around in all the cars to get to know them better. Sometimes I just want to play with the cars I like because it's relaxing and fun to me. It's also a great way to introduce friends to driving on the sim rig without making them feel any pressure. For people who do frequent tuning, this kind of map is imperative for allowing them to make proper adjustments without wasting a lot of time and effort setting up events, waiting for countdowns, avoiding penalties/crashes that could end your race, etc. They could go a step further and allow tuning on the fly in this open world mode which would be extremely convenient. Most importantly though, I just want to have fun with no consequences sometimes. I want to experience every car in its most raw and untamed state just to appreciate the design, the performance, and the sounds. I want to jump, slide, and crash into everything without being tossed out of the event and waiting 45 seconds for all the animations and menus to pass. Bring back dirtfish academy! Or better yet, build us a huge, detailed free roam map with varied terrain like WRC Generations had! I'd be happy with a simple large skid pad to be honest. Please consider it EA!
I´m also really missing Dirt Fish or something similar to practice technics and test setups ect.
