Is there a way to make Max's goals less ridiculous?
I'm currently working my way through career mode, on season 6 now. I plan to restart at some point doing a 0 restart, hardcore damage, max difficulty playthrough with the benefactor and budget balance tuned to what I feel is right.
My issue currently though is that I feel that I can't do that. I'm more than fine with how punishing Max is when I don't hit the goals, my issue is how ridiculous those goals actually are. My first WRC season I was world champion but lost points with Max due to his unreasonable demands. Second season was a repeat and I completed all the demands, but was only offered a pittance of a raise and am now expected to win 5 out of 5 Group B icon rally events. Winning the championship won't be enough, I have to come first in every. single. event. What?
I could keep restarts and keep the difficulty where it's at (currently 91) but the AI isn't really challenging me that way. Only the car, the track, and my ability to keep up with the callouts is challenging me right now, which is fine for the time being but not what I want for my second playthrough. I want winning a rally to be a true accomplishment, not just "I made it through the stages cleanly". I want to feel the sting of crashing out without a get out of jail free card. But Max's goals seem oriented around the idea that I'll have multiple restarts and keep the AI from putting too much pressure on me. Just winning doesn't ever seem to be enough, I have to utterly dominate the field.
Is this because of my settings? I guess I could just change the Benefactor to be more rewarding when I hit goals and less punishing when I miss them, but I'd rather turn that setting up harder and have much more reasonable goals.
