speed limit? what, why, huh?

I'm in an event now where I'm driving as usual. Going for the win. And suddenly, the co driver says there is a speed limit. Slow down. And after a few moments, "you really need to reduce your speed."...

    You're competing in a regularity.  The goal is to reach each checkpoint when the timer is at +0:00.xxx, with penalty points both for going faster or slower than the target.  The minimum speed is to prevent you from cheesing it by stopping in front of each checkpoint, and the maximum speed is because this event is designed to minimize the risk of someone crashing and ruining the priceless historic cars.

Hi you need to read regarding the concept of "regularity rally" where average speed is measured. sometimes you will need to drive quickly (lots of corners) sometimes you will need to reduce your pace and follow the cues that your co driver provides you.

I tried it once didn't like it. You don't  have to join these events if you do not like them. I completed one but wasn't able to go fast enough for the other and gave up.
