It's bad that the old tires disappear as soon as you've used a new set.
But I have a question about the right tire choice for asphalt/croation for 4 stages in a row.
12.9 km - rain
12.9 km - dry
10.2 km - dry
10.2 km - dry
The game advises me to take rain tires. But I still have medium and hard tires to choose from.
Which would you recommend?

If you use dry tyres you will lose a lot of time in the first stage and even if you go faster in the others you will not recover the lost time. If there were 5 or 6 stages, or one of them was long (25 km), it would be better to use dry tyres, since they would run out of rubber and would have a great advantage for several kilometres.

For a test I generated a fast rally and changed the order of the same routes
12.9 km - dry
12.9 km - rain
10.2 km - dry
10.2 km - dry
That makes 28% wet tarmac.
I wanted to see if the game's recommendation mechanism would fall apart. But no, the game stayed true to its logic and kept recommending the rain tires.
So I chose the rain tires for the Club Championchip Rally1. The second stage (dry) went well, the grip was there. But that was no longer the case on the last two stages. The brakes also started to lock up all the time.
I then did the last four stages (34.8km, all dry) and took the recommended medium tires. And they also worked better on the last two stages. The brakes locked up less, although I chose a stronger setting in the setup. But I can't say whether that would have been the better choice for the previous stages.
Everything indicates that rain tires offer good grip in the dry, but wear out faster (in the dry?). The decision can be difficult at 28% wet conditions.- Paulnberg3 months agoNew Rookie
I just had a stage in Japan 11.4 km dry with service before and directly after, and still had different tires left: medium, hard, 2x rain. So I took the rain tires.
The grip was about the same as with hard tires, but decreasing towards the end of the stage. And in the service they were shown as worn 1/3 red.So: Good grip but heavy wear on dry asphalt!! (This is an improvement to Dirt Rally 2.0)
If you had to drive 2 stages now
-Japan 11.4km rain
-Japan 11,4Km dry
then of course rain tires are appropriate. But if you have it the other way around
-Japan 11,4Km dry
-Japan 11.4km rain
then the tires are already used up after the first stage. Perhaps still the best choice, but perhaps not as ideal as for the first example.A third example
-Japan 19,4Km dry
-Japan 11,4Km dry
-Japan 11.4km rain
And now? Which tires do we take? Maybe Medium tires better?
