1.4 completely broke Force Feedback on Logitech G Pro Wheel

I'm forced to stop playing this entirely until this gets fixed.  At some point during the Rally, the Force Feedback will suddenly cut off, only to resume without any vibration but just wrenching the wheel at random times in my hands in random directions.  

Interestingly, if I then quit the game and restart it, the game will FREEZE on the "EA SPORTS" Audio splash.  Maybe about the E.  But if, while it's frozen, I turn OFF the Logitech Wheel, it unlocks and continues loading.  

After I saw this behavior, I decided, during the stage, when the FFB suddenly went haywire, I would just turn off the wheel while paused.  I got the Controller disconnected notice, turned on the wheel, it re-detected it,and I was able to continue for a moment or two with FFB, and then the process repeats.  

This NEVER happened before 1.4.  Further, I use the Logitech G Pro daily with Automobilista 2, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and rFactor 2, ALL with no problems whatsoever  with the wheel or its force feedback.  This issue is EXCLUSIVE to WRC.

Some people on boards were saying to 'reset' the FFB settings in the game, so I did.  Didn't help.

Some people said set the deadzone to 1 and then maybe back to 0 after trying it.  I did.  It didn't help.

Basically WRC is dead in the water for me.  I hope whatever was broken gets fixed soon, please..
