Just makes the cuts that are penalised stand out that much more. Got 5 seconds added for this one, even though there's no anti-cut pole:

Related to Cavernous's post above, the entire kink can apparently just be skipped for an extremely fast run through the corner - sector 3

furthermore there is a high-speed corner at end of Sector 7 that allows for a very high speed wallride, allows the corner to be taken with no brakes at all:
