EA WRC - no option to start in VR

Have WRC on Steam. Using Pimax Crystal headset. Have been playing successfully in VR since the BR beta was launched, but been away from the game for a few months now. And now something has changed, as I no longer get asked if I want to start the game in BR when launching the game from Steam. Also tried to launch it within SteamVR, but that does not start the game in VR. 

Has anything changed in a patch? Is there a way to force start in VR (command line prompt or similar)? I have tried to reinstall the game but that did not change anything. 

9800X3D, RTX5090, 64GB RAM, NVMe drives.
