Fanatec shifter issues

I’m having issues with my Fanatec shifter in H-pattern and clutch mode. All gear selection positions have been mapped and binded appropriately, but every time I try to change up into 3rd or 5th, it’s a lottery as to whether I get 1, 3, or 5 (very frustrating if you’re doing 80mph and get 1st)

I was randomly getting reverse too, until I remapped reverse to 7th gear, now this issue is solved. I love playing the game with the full realism of H-shift and clutch, but this issue is breaking me! Help!

Happy to report, that I took the top off my Fanatec shifter, unplugged the cable, left it off for a minute or two, connected everything back up, and bingo!

I’ve not had a mis-shift, false neutral, or any other issue since! I would advise anyone to do this simple fix, before trying anything else, it works!

  • I've tried it several times, but it didn't work for me. I'm running my shifter with the Clubsport adapter connected to a USB hub, so I replugged it in different ways. Not even directly through the adapter to the USB port on my PC with top part removed and reasambeled seemed to work. However reconfiguring with the fanatec software after starting the game still works, so I will stick to that solution until there's something else or an actual fix. But still thank you! 👍

It’s worth trying what I suggested in the other stream (or above). After I unplugged my shifter and reconnected it, all the mapping issues, false neutrals etc have stopped. Worth a try! 👍🏻

  • I have issues running my fanatec shifter in H-pattern mode like many other players too. Ingame all inputs are correctly mapped, but it seems that the game somehow interferes with the Fanatec Control Panel. Everytime I boot it up it suddenly recalibrates the button mapping in the Control Panel. You have to recalibrate the Shifter in the Control Panel after starting WRC in order for it to work properly.

Is there any permanent or at least different solution to this issue and is there any information about a upcoming hotfix which will actually fix it like they tried in Patch 1.4?

"Fixed an issue that caused certain input devices to require recalibration after the game has been rebooted."

Honestly it isn't a big deal, but it's annoying in some kind of way if you have to recalibrate your gear everytime you reboot it.

    Thanks for your reply 👍🏻

Ive just read on Steam, while searching for any other advice, that the problem may not be with the game, but to do with a static electricity build-up in the shifter itself. Apparently if you open it up, disconnect then reconnect the cable, it can solve the issue, as Fanatec shifters work using magnets as sensors. I shall investigate and report back! 👍🏻

  • I have the same issue and I´m still waiting for Codemasters make honor to their name and fix it. So far there´s a workaround I´ve read on steam that helps me.....when entering the game set the fanatec shifter to  sequential and when you´re ingame turn it back to H-pattern.
