I also encounter this on PC. a temporary workaround is just straight up starting without doing anything to the tyres, tuning, repairs etc. at the next service, you should be able to do said things. however, you have to do this every single time you join a new lobby. A new championship on the same lobby is ok tho.
Yesterday we had a tournament consisting of 12 stages in quick play multi. The game didn't crash, but after changing the tires, their condition was still red.
