Update: I tested on another display (LG G1 55 Oled), and it looked way better, as I would expected where peak brightness should be (whites actually look white, while blacks still look black), colors also looked more or less correct (general WRC 2023 "pastel look" notwithstanding). So it seems like this is mainly an issue when using the Alienware QD OLED. Something's up with the tone mapping in this game for this particular monitor. I can get it to look sooorta right by using ReShade, but it's hacky and I lose a little detail in the highlights.
Perhaps we need a way to adjust the peak brightness nits in the options to dial it in?
