Solved this, at least for me, by downgrading shader efects in grapichs advanced options.

  • Solved this by downgrading shadows and shaders, and can play the stage from inside cockpit, also you can play outside the car (not an option for me).

    Attached my advanced graphics config.

Same problem/error here, all drivers up to date, verified files in steam, got decent FPS, like other stages.. Only the stages in Monte Carlo give the error.

  • I thoroughly ran through turning graphics settings from low to ultra, and found that switching ground cover from Ultra to High stopped my crashing, regardless of other settings. In the end, I was able to play 4k all Ultra, except Ground Cover High and motion blur off (always off, yuck). My FOV is maxed, too.

So, try reducing ground cover and let the thread know how it worked for you!

  • @Malice604 After turning my "Ground Cover" settings from Ultra to High, the problem was fixed for me. Thank you very much sir. I thought I was going to have to retire in Career Mode :'). Try it out guys! Lower your "Ground Cover" settings.
  • *. You can try all you want, it's definitely a game bug that occurs just in Montecarlo Carrer stages. If you search online, it's a common bug, non dependent to what kind of gear you have.

For instance, I have a 3080 coupled with i5 13600k but I read about people with 4090 and 13900K having the same issue.

I can also reset my whole electric gear at home, but the problem remains. It's ridiculous that I should set graphics to low level or playing with a different camera (I'm not an arcade joypad player) so I decided, in career, to simply retire from Montecarlo rally.

You MUST investigate the problem and patch it. This game is very bad optimized, "low" FPS with high end gear, even if I'm playing at 1080p, considering that the engine is the old UE 4.
