Re: Assists automatically activating despite being disabled in settings.

Gotta be some bug where assists are turning on automatically. I use a gamepad and just noticed that the 037 Evo 2 refused to slip at all in wet dirt when dropping the handbrake in first gear with the throttle maxed. I always have all assists off, and the game automatically decreased the throttle by itself to find grip so the car could take off immediately. RPMs went down below 3k with full accel held.

I had to exit the game for it to behave as you'd expect and spin the tires in that scenario, which it did. So going into a time trial right away didn't trigger this bug.. But in general I've noticed it's very hard to lose control of almost any car in any condition but the ice in Monte Carlo, so this bug must be happening quite frequently. Who knows what is actually causing it, though.

You're the only other person I've seen even mention this issue! I hate assists like TC and I've been wondering what the hell is going on in this game. So bizarre. Since there's really no one else talking about it, not sure if it will ever get fixed.

Tbh this is what I feel could be happening as well.
On anything but ice and especially in a decently powered RWD car it's a struggle to get the driven wheels to spin.
Taking a dry Monte Carlo stage as an example and the MK2 Escort - in DR2.0 I can hold the front brakes, hit the gas in 1st gear and spin the rears as much as I like. In WRC they spin maybe a revolution and then stop.
It's either the tyre grip coefficient is set too high, or the TC isn't switching off even when set to zero.
I haven't tested this using a wheel yet but I will do to see if it's the controller that's doing it.
The effect is less pronounced on gravel but it's still too sticky. Seems to affect rwd cars more than AWD or FWD
