Yeah, would be nyce if the could just compile without AVX512. Should be possible?! There a lot of Unreal Engine 5 Games that don't require AVX.

But I guess no one cares unless they can shove money in the * of some bosses.

i just tested now and no patch, what they did is a message comes out and say "error your cpu is below minimum spec. avx is required to play ea sports wrc" not working they don't care.

its not that they dont care. its their game and it requires this function to run. What you need to do is upgrade your PC brother. your Mobo+CPU are over 13 years old. So was mine. everything after 2011 had AVX. 

@Dalexyz r u a developer? Not sure if they have specific AVX code that cannot be run without AVX. Probably. But as said before other UA5 games don't. Maybe it can be compiled without AVX.

BTW same.age for my CPU. Anyway, of course sucks if it's the first game.you have to upgrade for. BTW RTX2080Super. Since I just play casually it's OK.

BUT selling that error message as a fix.. BROFl. * off EA.

100 % I agree. 

I'm not a developer and idk if it has to do UE5 but regardless for me I've been postponing upgrading my cpu mobo combo for 3 years so It happened around black Friday and got a good deal for them 

i found a fix to this issue underneath the steam page on the game saying to delete windows update KB5045594 it worked for me game innstantly opened although it took a minute to load in to delete the update go into windows settings and go Update and Security. click on windows updates then look for "View update History" click on it and at the top it should say "Uninstall update" click on this it should open a new app at the top right it should say search for update click on it and copy and paste KB5045594 than uninstall this restart your pc and it should work

After 2 days of searching and trying 10+ fixes this is the only thing that let me load in. Thank you, EA FIX your game why does windows update KB5045594 Installed on 10/24/24 make your game unplayable with no mention of this ??

On Windows 11, uninstalling the KB50xxx does not do it for me, as that's for Win10 only.

What did make the game run was renaming the OpenXR folder to anything else (within the steamapps/common/EA SPORTS WRC/Engine/Binaries/ThirdParty)

HOWEVER, I want to play it in VR, and I think that if that folder is renamed, then the VR option does not appear. Restoring the folder's name to OpenXR brings the problem back, and the game does not start even if I have the Meta Quest3 being used. 

Is there a solution to get this working in VR?
