Shaders 'deleted' from cache upon game load

Product: EA SPORTS™ WRC
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug There is still no shader pre-caching taking place and shader repository in windows is 'emptied' each time the game is loaded.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open windows 'drive cleanup' from hard drive properties. Note content of shader cache and delete files. Launch the game and observe no shader caching event can be seen on the 'press enter' screen, or the main menu. You can observe the shader cache in 'drive cleanup' (need to re-open to see update) and it will get either ~132kb of content, or nothing. Exit the game from the main menu, refresh the shader cache again, it will populate with roughly 10MB of content, that was cached from just seeing the game menu. Launch the game again and refresh the cache reading, it will have gone back to zero again.
What happens when the bug occurs? Game stutters and hitches as shaders are cached during driving and contact with road-side furniture.
What do you expect to see? Shader pre-caching taking place before the stage driving starts.

I cannot be sure if the shader repository was cleared during game launch in 1.3, however it's very much happening now in 1.4.

The game still exhibits the exact same stuttering and hitching during stage driving as it did previously in 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3.  Once you have driven and cached the shaders, it no longer hitches and stutters when driving the same stages.

This includes all the same roadside object stuttering that i tested in 1.3.

Interestingly, despite the game clearing the shader cache in windows upon every launch, the game behaves same way as it previously has, once the shader is called and cached upon driving the stage and/or hitting the stage-side furniture, it will no longer hitch/stutter in that location, even after quitting the game and re-launching it.

Obviously if you use the windows 'drive cleanup' option to empty the cache folder, it will reset the game's caching and you'll need to suffer through the stuttering/hitching again in order to re-cache the shaders.

Using the graphics card driver option to clear the cache has the same effect and of course any time the graphics drivers get updated, it also clears the cache.

  • Same to me - when does this stuttering get finally fixed?

The replay mode is even worse - textures taking ages to load, so hard you can see it - lol!

Stuttering nearly non-stop on every cam-change - this is clearly unacceptable!

So WHEN will this be fixed @EA / CM...?!
