i've noticed this too. I have my difficulty set at 90% and usually beat the ai by a fairly decent margin. once i got any higher than 90, it becomes impossible to beat them and they beat me by like 30 seconds or more. it makes zero sense. some stages i can still win, others i don't have a snowballs chance...
