A continuation of the thread here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/EA-WRC-not-starting-after-1-9-patch/td-p/13878947 - now for users on the 2.1.0 patch which came out today.
Again, WRC fails to launch on its second and subsequent boots after a fresh install.
The workaround still seems to be deleting all files EXCEPT the Config folder from AppData\Local\WRC\Saved.
Unfortunately this does not seem to be a consistent fix for everyone.
Keen to know how many other people are still suffering from this issue since the previous patch and if the above workaround actually works for them (including if they're on the Steam or EA App version).

Summarize your bug Update 2.1.0 - the game does not launch, it gets to the second splash screen, and fails.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%) - unless the USHADERPRECACHE and UPIPELINECACHE files are deleted from AppData/Local/WRC/Saved
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Update the game from v1.9.0 to 2.1.0, then launch from Steam. From a fresh install, close the game and attempt to relaunch it, which triggers the bug.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game fails to launch.
What do you expect to see? Finish the EA Logo intro and reach the main menu.

since the Anticheat update i also can not play anymore. At the start i get a blue screen and Windows restarts. Today i downloaded the new update and still the same..i am on the Epic-Store version and the game is on the standard-path on C-drive. So anoying :-( i tried everything i could, diffrent ways
Me, too. Working fine until the patch today. Now doesn't get beyond splash screen. I had just bought the DLC as well.
Same here! Worked fine on 1.9.0 day before patch, got home, bought dlc and the game doesn't get further than splash logo. Sometimes EA app shows error "EA app crashed unexpectedly" C'mon EA fix please, I was waiting so long for this update. Tried everything, Secure Boot was never off as well.

I just bought the expansion pass and now after this update, I can’t play the game. It crashes to desktop or states that the EA app has crashed. Tried a fresh reinstall, tried to repair and tried app recovery. I’m beyond pissed off as there are no refunds for dlc/ expansions according to their T & C’s.
EA are so incompetent!! ☹️
Same problem as in the last patch, can't run the game without deleting shader files from:
%localappdata%/wrc/saved
So if the shader files are present, I can't run the game. Same problem as many are also reporting, I only get the EA Splash screen and the game shuts down.
Put if remove all the files from %localappdata%/wrc/saved (leave only the folders, delete all 4 files), I can run the game. You have to delete these files every time you run the game.
I have two friend with the exact same problem and "fix". All Steam users.

Same problem since this new update 2.1.0, the game was running perfectly fine before.
I bought the DLC, launched the game, and after the splash screen, I get back to the EA app.
Specs :
CPU 7700k (old CPU but it was running great in 1.9.0 !)
GPU RTX 2080
I tried deleting the files, reinstalling the game, and ea app.
Also i tried to run the game as Admin. same result.
That's hard to swallow just after spending 30€....

so im not the only one. This is absolute garbage that I paid for this cant get a refund and they are doing nothing to address the issue.
Worked fine until update, like others. Now crashing just before Splash screen would load.
Tried on another PC with fresh install, never installed before, same problem.
Deleting files and other fixes does not work.
Other games work okay, tried F1 24, runs fine.
I got it to open...try checking under C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts ...see if you have a folder called EA Desktop...open that..mine had a second folder \EA desktop. I shrunk it to a single volume...I then ran the anti cheat updater and it opened
pls explain what you did? copy paste the game in this EA desktop Folder? What?
I can't play. What a disaster.
I just asked for a refund for the expansion 24 pack, they removed the addon and it's back to normal. For now it's the only solution, at least you can play.Hi
Apparently the problem has been solved ! It works again for me now !
