iv got this error on both my systems.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Update the game from v1.9.0, then launch it from EA app.
What happens when the bug occurs? Crash to desktop.
What do you expect to see? rally cars on stages instead of CTD.

on trying this on my second system i noticed a few things
the anti cheat started up, and went through a slower process, the white bar took a while to do its jig, I then noticed a window error pop up in task manager and anti chear, WRC and EA app all closed. on retrying, the anti cheat white bar goes instantly to full and all game related processes stop, no windows error reported in task manager. im wondering if windows defender is doing something to mess with the awful anti cheat.....

I'm one of the guys who had this problem since the patch before, 1.9 I think. Never bothered about any of the workarounds, it's the firm's problem to fix this, not mine. In the old days of software on DVDs our case would play out like this: You bought the DVD on day one, you installed and played the game happily for a year. One afternoon, there's a knock on your door. A chap you've never seen before pushes past you, grabs the DVD that has always worked, scratches a nail over the backside to make sure it doesn't work anymore, he then deletes the game from your PC and says: OK, Sunny, this is update 1.9, your problem now. Cheers." and then he leaves.
Would you spend even half a minute trying to repair the damage? You wouldn't.
Come on EA and/or Codemasters, get your act together, simply go back to before the chap rang on the door, to stay within my image. It's your duty, not mine.
