Apex Legends constantly crashing ("Badly formed commands")

I play through steam, and have intel cpu/ amd gpu.

I previously never got this issue before this season, and now with constant game integrity checks, and reinstalls, plus forgoing the use of steam commands, i still run into this issue.

As you can see it is detrimental to gameplay and having it crash multiple times in 1 match is insanely annoying to deal with.

"[DGXI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED] : 0x887a0006 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG The applicaiton's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed."

Hi there, sorry to hear you’re running into the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED crash on Steam.

According to our troubleshooting guide, DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG can sometimes indicate that a background app or process is stuck. Please try fully restarting your system first, then launch the game again and see if the crash still happens.

I’d also recommend performing a clean reinstall of your graphics driver using DDU, then installing the latest stable driver for your GPU.

    Thanks.

I posted because the troubleshooting guide didn’t work. I should have stated in the post all the fixes I tried, I guess.

AMD GPU: Reinstalled drivers + tested reverted old drivers

    disabled/enabled windows “full screen optimization”

Tested only running Apex. no active background apps

Tried running with no steam launch options

Never use chroma/third party lighting effects

Just started suddenly crashing constantly for season 29…

Thank you for clarifying which steps you’ve already tried.

Have you also tried performing a clean boot?

Could you also confirm whether Windows is fully up to date?

If possible, please attach your DxDiag report as well.

    I have tried clean boot.
    Windows is up to date.

I'd rather not dump the DxDiag file in a public forum.

Never had any issues with this before this season.

I will say its probably the wraith portal. Happened a ton while playing wraith, and didn't happen all day today, until I had a wraith on my team.

Did some testing myself, since I have not received any fixes. And this problem has to do with messing with the texture memory streaming budget, changes to the setting at all causes instability and crashes.

I found this after going line by line in my videoconfig.txt

With low memory streaming budget, the game will crash during ults like Wraiths portal, as previously stated.

I've played for many seasons previously with no issues at low memory settings, just for preference/stability, now its seems to provide the opposite effect.

Just wanted to update, in case I can be of help to other players running into the same issues.
