It seems like a few more people have had issues. 

Can confirm i have the same issue. To give some context, i reinstalled apex yesterday from steam and starting it would BSOD my pc, after learning it was some issue with Easy anticheat i followed some advice online to reinstall it. The setup wasn't really working as shown on video, and instead of BSOD my pc started freezing on startup, totally stuck, had to manually shut it down from the button. Nothing worked, then i uninstalled from steam and downloaded by EA, now this issue. My guess (supported by a window flashing very fast before the error) is that easy anticheat is failing to install, and this is the reason apex will fail the setup.

I don't know what ticked off the game when it previously worked, if a windows update or an apex (EAC) update, but a lot of people online agree that the issue lies in the kernel level access of the anticheat. Furthermore, similar issues have happened to people overtime (BSOD, freezes, etc.), the first i found date back to 2022. Easy anticheat has some clear issues with windows...

Croffins​ I actually did a manual reinstall, and it seems EAC isn't having any issues. It may be the way the license works with the EA app directly, and not so much about Windows.

The issue is Exclusive to the EA Desktop app. If you can switch to Steam, that is the only solution.

So your telling me if you have a account specific to EA cause steam wont allow cross-play with my account cause my account is from PS5 and wont let me link to Steam I have to play a level one account?? how is that fair
