Cross-play connecting to match

This has been a problem for so long that it needs to be addressed. I play with my friends who are on different consoles and we have such a problem connecting to matches together. It will be where one of us connects and the rest of us sit in lobby... it is very frustrating to try and play ranked when only 2 people are in the game or just me while my friends sit in lobby. PLEASE fix this. this has been a problem since like season 12.
