Weird visual bug with shimmering animations

Has anyone had an issue like this?

It's easiest to replicate with dummy spawn and despawn animations, but other effects also trigger it (Banga smoke, the electrified effect on bullets of Rampart's wall). It's most jarring with R99 and CAR ironsight since the dot turns into 3 and it looks really blurry. I am on Steam. I use AMD Image Sharpening and Anti Lag (I tried disabling both but nothing changed). I am running RX580, Ryzen 5 2600, 32GB and I have tried both Windows 10 and 11, no difference between them. These scope artefacts started happening when this season 25 dropped if I recall correctly. R5 Reloaded doesn't have any issues nor do any other games I play, only Apex. I've just reinstalled my OS couple of days ago and I tried running Apex with every single setting  in both Windows and BIOS at default, and nothing changed. These shimmering animations break my crosshair and make it so hard to track enemies when they're a bit further. Btw for some reason TAA 'fixes' it, I can't play game with TAA enabled, no chance, but all of these animations work correctly with it enabled. On top of all default settings I tried the driver from 2022 and the latest one 25.8.1, no difference between them either.

  • Apex without TAA is literately making my eyes bleed. Unplayable without it or with first gen upscaling = you basically are shooting pixels of noise all the time.

Sorry can't comment on the issue as I stopped paying attention to visual clutter of Apex while ago, just try doing my best understanding where enemies are and aim approximately that direction most of the time :) visual clutter in this game is just insane thus many people solve that via wallhacks :) as killing others is much easier task compared to spotting them :D

  • I am not really concerned with dithering animations , I just can't look at the crosshair multiplying on my screen, it's really distracting. Without TAA enabled my crosshair multiplies like on the picture, that can't be a feature ffs... I need a clear crosshair 😭 Apex has always been a mess filled to the brim with meaningless visual clutter, but having my crosshair look like this is really distracting. I am done with Apex if that's a feature...

Suggestion - don't look at crosshair, learn to aim looking at the enemy model especially in mid and more so close range fights. Apex is no Valorant or CS where you must land headshot (and even there people don't look at crosshair as far as I know). Apex is tracking game / shot leading game and for that you actually need to look past crosshair (if I could I would actually turn it down entirely, e.g. in H-cog metal side verticals would be enough for me.

Only case where you look at crosshair is mid-far, far range shots = your G7, 3030, sniper shots where you have time to align and even intentionally hit heads = 3x+ scopes.

I agree that visual clutter in Apex is big, but as we can see from majority of casual players = they like shiny things which includes animations not only skins. So clearly that is part of the Apex, pity you can't turn it off if you prefer competitive advantage (I am sure you can, it is just not publicly advertised aka your potato graphics cfg). Just need to accept it and work around it. E.g. figure out which scope suits which gun better as actually animations differ per scope as well. For me I in many cases use much higher scope even closer range just to avoid visual clutter = it is easier for me to move mouse like crazy due to lower FOV vs not seeing what I am aiming at with say 1x scope.
