Any chance anyone at EA would like to actually comment on this? At this point, it's pretty clear that there's something going on here more than people using cheating software.
I understand that you guys are trying to deal with a massive cheating problem during what must be a pretty difficult (and successful) launch. I'm pretty sure I can speak for the folks in this thread and the others I've seen, seeing the same issue, that we hate cheaters as much as you guys do. I've had countless games ruined for me to the point where I won't play them anymore because of cheaters.
I also understand that, as community managers, you guys are just trying to do your jobs.
But please understand you're dealing with people who have been playing these Battlefield games for decades. We have spotless records and really all we're asking is more information on what it is that we did wrong. "Competitive advantage" is really not informative.
Regardless of what anyone might think or say, I know for sure that I'm not using a cheating software. I never have. I never will. Which means that there's something on my system that is triggering your anti-cheat. Whether it's one of the standard PC monitoring tools that people use (like Afterburner or Hardware Info), whether it's a six-button controller, who knows.
If you could provide the community with more information on what it is that is creating these bans specifically, what is it that the anti-cheat is detecting, then the community can probably figure out what piece of software or what monitoring tool or what it is that's causing these issues. And then avoid it in the future, at least until you guys can patch the anti-cheat.
I get that there are people cheating, probably a lot of them, but there are also some people that aren't. And beyond not being able to play the game, it's really difficult, as a veteran gamer, to get labelled as a cheater, especially in the communities that you belong to.
Anyway, I guess that's it. I understand that you guys sold 7 million copies and you're dealing with a lot, but this just sucks for us, and we'd appreciate some help.
