AutoHotKey

"this software cannot be used at the same time as the game. Please make sure its not running or restart your pc (84):AutoHotKey "

Alright, this was happening with skate too, After a restart it would go away, or somtimes still persist.
I was in the middle of a BF6 game and my came blackscreens, closes, and shows this message. im getting sick of seeing it.
--------------
Do i have it installed ?
No

Do i have any of the related files for AutoHotKey on my pc ?
No

how was it removed ?
About a few months ago atleast , i uninstalled it normally, then this problem persisted so i re installed it and FULLY wiped all possibility of it still being on my pc using Revo uninstaller ,
After doing so it worked and i did not get this message for a day atleast. Now my pc has been on all night since for atleast 8-9 hours.

It let me open the game, but then randomly halfway through a match, it closed and gave me this message Again.

Has anyone figured out how to stop this ? or are do i gotta just refund all the prior games from EA for even allowing such a dumb bug to persist

  • I just wanted to add too, theres nothing in task manager or even viewer showing any processes to do with AHK

  • Did you make any autohotkey script exes? Those don't require autohotkey to be installed.

I have one that I put in my startup (to disable Windows 10's stupid win+tab task view garbage) and I have to close it before I can load BF6.

It might be detecting a different program as if it were autohotkey (or that a program uses autohotkey scripting that's being detected).

Doing some googling and found a few people saying that program's being seen as autohotkey include:

    • MicMute
    • GameCompanion
    • fnlock.exe
    • TCNo Account Switcher
    • DimScreen (or some other screen dimming software)
    • VPN's being used.
    • Found someone in BF1 who had Windows Defender causing it.
    • Rainmeter

You might need to try one by one with task manager and individually shut down programs 1 at a time, and check if BF6 will load. Then if you load, then it was the last program you shut down.

sadly still getting it, i just restarted my pc too and it still said it,

odd thing is, WHY ? im not opening anything i wouldent userally,

All my current open applications too, i wish they would fix this problem, theres nothing named AHK autohotkey, or anything related to it on my pc , even registrys where removed

  • Yes but you might have a program that has autohotkey scripting within it. For example, librewolf might be using autohotkey for updating. Because it's not just a program, autohotkey can create executables that run their scripts, and if a program loads the script it can get detected.

You need to try turning off as many other programs. Try launching in safe mode, then start steam and then bf6 and see if it still fails.

Another thing you might want to try is do a search of your entire PC for any file with a *.ahk extension. If it shows up it might be that program running the script causing the detection.
