Battlefield 6 BSOD
For a week or 3 i have been having a very odd issue. bf6 would BSOD my pc in a particular way, it would close apps 1 by 1 until the pc either crashed or it left me with nothing working. This would either take 1 second or ages. The end result would be the game crashes and takes my pc with it or it would just BSOD.
Event viewer would show "event 41, Kernal-power". And under applications it would show the anticheat crashing at the same time of the bsod/kernal-power. Here is a list of things i tried to fix the issue.
System & Hardware
Turned off XMP/DOCP.
Turned off PBO.
Core Isolation tested.
Fully clean Windows 11 installs (multiple).
Tried Windows 11 Pro on clean install.
No RGB software installed on clean install.
Updated/downgraded NVIDIA drivers.
Microsoft Game Input checked (missing).
Removed RAM sticks and cleaned contacts.
Removed GPU and cleaned contacts.
Tried multiple SSDs.
Updated BIOS to newest version.
Turned off Resizable BAR to test.
Hardware Stress-testing
RAM tested with MemTest.
CPU tested with Prime95, Cinebench, OCCT CPU.
GPU tested with FurMark, OCCT GPU.
No instability outside Battlefield.
Game / Anti-cheat
Manual Battlefield 6 anti-cheat reinstall.
EA App anti-cheat reinstall attempts (fail).
Riot Vanguard not installed.
Reinstalled Battlefield.
Tried a wide range of in-game settings, including:
Ultra → Low
DLSS on/off
Post-processing changes
Default/stock settings on a clean install
Battlefield is the only game that causes BSOD.
What ended up fixing it oddly enough after weeks of this is leaving my Elgato stream deck+ unplugged before i start my pc. Unplug it after i start it? Crashes. Plug it back in after i booted / launched the game? Crashes. I believe this was the cause. Im still testing it. it has crashed a few times since but only after i plugged it back in.
