FPS capped at 50-60 FPS.

Guys, I'm having a problem with the FPS apparently being capped at approximately 50-60, both in multiplayer and in campaign and other modes.

In the menu and training grounds, I get a little over 150 FPS, and before season 2, it was normal. Other games also continue to perform normally.

I've already updated the NVIDIA drivers, tried adjusting the graphics settings on the card, the game, and even the startup parameters, but nothing has worked.

The CPU and GPU are at a good percentage of usage, but the game is literally unplayable, with the screen unresponsive and crashing a lot.

What I've tried:

1 Use the startup parameters in the EA Play app. [-unlockedfps -fpscap 0 -NoVSync -refresh 144 -dx12 (I tried dx11 as well)].
2 I turned off G-SYNC and disabled all V-Sync options.
3 Adjusted the options related to frameratelimit in PROFSAVE_profile.
4 Removed the BF6 and D3DSCache cache folders.
5 Tried adjusting the graphics settings in the game and in the NVIDIA App, even changing FOV, low, high, and nothing changed the FPS. It affected the frametime, but did not improve the FPS.
6 Finally, I uninstalled the game, removing the regedit keys and any folders in Windows.
7 I reinstalled it and all settings were reset to default, including shortcuts and sensitivities, and the FPS remained stuck.

In the attached image, I have included details of my machine's graphics usage and specifications.

Thank you.

i5 9600K - this CPU is like what... 7 years old. Compare it with R7 9800X3D...

    Enable DLSS Quality.

Try enabling G-SYNC with nVidia Reflex and see what happens...

Yes, my CPU is really old, but it still works well. I can play almost anything with a reasonable frame rate.

Before the Season 2 update, I was playing at an average of 140 fps.

I already had these two options enabled when the problem started, so that's not it.

    But thanks for responding.

  • I have a 2026 pc.

9070xt with an AMD 7 9700x on an NVME.

Since season 2 My fps has been locked from 160fps to 60fps locked. tried everything you have and noticed this game now does what Ubisoft does locking 60fps or 1/2 or 1/4 no option for more fps. I have tried all above and still stuck. I feel the latency and don't even bother playing at the moment.

    Did you find a solution?

Yes, after many attempts, I managed to solve it.

In my case, the problem was caused by a type of cache in the game's Shaders.
For some reason I couldn't identify, even after uninstalling the game or manually removing the folders, the Shaders weren't loading correctly, keeping my FPS frozen.

To solve it, I reverted to the latest NVDIA driver and forced the card's Shaders to be reset.
With that, I started other newer games, the Shaders were reloaded, and when I opened BF6 again, it took a long time to load, and the FPS was unlocked, becoming even a little better than what I had before.

But I ended up tweaking almost every possible option.
I hope these actions help you too.

The problem reoccurred after a while, perhaps when updating the NVIDIA driver again.

After researching more thoroughly and realizing that it was only a limitation during matches or in the game itself, as the FPS was normal in the menu and in the Training Grounds, I found a key in regedit. When I deleted it, considering the full installation path of BF6, everything returned to normal and the FPS is now working properly in the game. This is the key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\DirectX\UserGpuPreferences

It must have been some conflict or the registry was corrupted. Well, problem solved to me!
