Freeze/shudder then crash after a game or two
Hey y'all, after 6 months of (relative) stability I've started having issues with it crashing silently after loading into a game. What happens is, I'll load into a game, everything is fine, but at some point 5-20 minutes after playing, it'll stutter, hitch and then silently crash with zero error message. There is nothing in event viewer, no kernel panic, no directx error. In the past, I've had directx errors, but those are normal when you run OC'd components, and it was very infrequent. This time the crashes are 100% of the time.
- Ryzen 5900xt, PBO enabled
- Nvidia 5070
- 32gb of 3733 DDR4 (XMP enabled, fclock synced with cpu)
- Windows Insider Beta
- 4k monitor, DLSS 4.5 enabled
Just a couple of notes:
- BF2042 had zero crashes
- Other games have zero crashes or instability
- Driver rollback did not solve the problem
- Turning off auto GPU OC did not solve the problem either
- Thermals are not the issue
This only started happening a week or so ago. I know I can disable XMP, PBO however my DDR4 system already struggles and I'd be leaving performance on the table that I desperately need if I turned the OC off.
If anyone is running into similar issue and has solved it, please let me know
