Getting sent back to the main menu screen from Portal

Everytime I try to load into a portal match since, God forbid I can’t host my own server, and when it finishes the loading screen to load me into the match, it immediately sends me back to the main menu screen and this happens every time on my ps5 and on my steam account. I’m soooo confused as to why this is happening and idk if it has to do with the custom password that the host of the server created or not (idk) but wouldn’t it prompt me with a Box to put a password in before logging into the portal match (it never tells me to put a password in ever)?? Idk what’s going on but I really wanna try out portal and experience all the whacky, cool, easy servers it has to offer. TY
