Patching Mechanism on EA App is Crazy

The patching mechanism is downloading 25.7GB multiple times to patch each  Add-On. That's just crazy. Surely its just the same tar / zip file that should be getting stored in a temporary location, extracted and then potentially installed  over each add-on as appropriate.
