PC and Console Party Chat Crashing

I have a few friends playing on console, mix of PlayStation and Xbox, when in a party with these players I constantly crash to desktop, mostly at the start of a game. 

On PC using the EA App as launcher. Tried clearing the EA App cache, nada. 

Sometimes it works great, mostly though it seems to crash pretty consistently. 

I'd say more crashes happen when joining a new server together, and not when joining a game midway through.
