So, when is the EA Anti-Cheat file corruption going to finally be addressed?
It's been exactly ONE FULL MONTH since I have been able to play at all without the same issue, which is the game crashing to desktop, and after validating file integrity, the same 3 files are always the culprit:
- EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe
- preloader_1.dll
- EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.dll
I would have reported this sooner, but for about the same amount of time (a month) the forums would not let me view or sign in to them. Naturally, I find this to be ridiculous.
Nevertheless, those files listed above are continuously being replaced after verifying the game files.
Here is an excerpt of my first attempt to identify the files (taken from my "\Steam\logs\content_log.txt" file it creates):
[2025-10-18 01:09:57] Validation: 62 chunks corrupt of 62 total in file "EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe"
[2025-10-18 01:10:04] Validation: 1 chunks corrupt of 1 total in file "preloader_l.dll"
[2025-10-18 01:12:38] Validation: 142 chunks corrupt of 142 total in file "EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.dll"
[2025-10-18 01:13:01] Validation: full scan in "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Battlefield 6" found 3/301 mismatching files (53.04 MB/81.50 GB) in 187 seconds).(Note: I have removed all exact references to each corrupt chunk it found to make this more readable.)
Steps I have taken to try and fix:
1. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling using the anti-cheat using the EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe found in \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Battlefield 6\EAAntiCheat directory.
2. Downloaded a "fresh version" of EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe separately from the EA Website and also trying to repair/uninstall/reinstall it using that .exe instead. Hint: It makes no difference.
One thing I would like to point out is that using the EAAntiCheat installer from the Steam Library always shows Battlefield 6 as "Battlefield Labs" in the dropdown menu. I find that odd since I removed all references to Battlefield Labs after my stint with it was over and the full game was released.
Using the version downloaded from the EA site actually allows me to pick "Battlefield 6" from the dropdown menu as opposed to "Battlefield Labs."
3. I've completely reinstalled the game 3 or 4 times to no avail.
4. Ran both DISM and SFC in Windows and no Windows issues were found at all.
