Video Memory Leak on High-End GPUs with Overkill Settings

Hello developers!

Today the new patch and Season 1 for Battlefield 6 have been released. Many players had already reported before the patch that there’s a problem on OVERKILL settings with high-end GPUs — after some time, VRAM overflow occurs, and the game starts dropping FPS, freezing, and stuttering. Sometimes it even crashes.

My system: 7800X3D, 64 GB RAM, RTX 4080 Super.
The VRAM overflow in 4K resolution happens within about 10 minutes. On a 4090, the exact same issue appears, but after around 20 minutes. At that point, the game becomes unplayable.

If you lower the graphics slider one step down and then switch it back up, it temporarily fixes the problem — but only for about 10–15 minutes.

You had this issue back in Battlefield 2042 as well. Is it really so hard to fix it? Right now, it’s simply impossible to play in 4K using your HD Pack. How can such a major problem go unnoticed for so long?

  • And I’d like to add some additional information: this is definitely not an NVIDIA driver issue. I’ve tested several different versions — even the 590.26 Developer Drivers Beta. The problem is clearly on your side, and it’s been ignored since the game’s launch.

  • Trust me i understand its annoying as hell you cant even go through but 1 match then have to either turn it down to ultra or restart game. It's ridiculous

  • I got the same problem, and I dont have a "high-end" GPU, but the problem is still there so after one or two games, I must close the game.
