Ideas
I have been playing since the game BF6 came out. I played a game today, shutdown my computer and came back an hour later to find this message when I tried to start the game.
What's up?

Hello
Ever since I had the latest updates from Microsoft, every time I want to play Battle Field 6, I get the following error message, "Windows version is not supported, Please upgrade the minimum supported version". The only way I can get it to work is by going to the properties section, then to installed files, and then verify this games files are installed correctly. Once I do that and it has gone through the process, the game will work. But I have to do this every time I want to play.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Robert

Hello friend!
If the game works after verifying files, Penguin suspect something in the installation may be getting corrupted or blocked after launch.
Things to check:
1: Ensure Compatibility Mode is Disabled for BF6.exe (Right click BF6.exe, proterties, Compatibility, make sure NO older Windows version is slected.
2: Repair EA AntiCheat. Open Battlefield 6 folder, EAAnticheat, Run the EaAntiCheat.Installer.exe and use the Repair function it provides.
3: Check Windows System Image files files by running these CMD commands individually as Administrator in CMD:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /Scannow
If the issue continues, feel free to share a screenshot of Event VIewer errors around the time the game fails to launch
That way the issue can be further investigated by Penguin and Others

Many thanks!

Hello friend!
Thanks for sharing that you experience a similar issue friend, what you describe sounds pretty odd indeed, Penguin suggest you post a screenshot of the Windows Event viewer error log over here, in case any related issues or causes can be identified by Penguin or Others.
Any information can be useful.
Windows + X button 👉 Event Viewer
A solution cannot be guaranteed from this end but it could be helpful in order to try detect what's actually going on, since similar problems seems to affect more players in the community.

Many thanks!

I tried playing bf6 today, i was slapped with this error. After repairing the game was able to launch the game, then again after closing and trying to relaunch second time. same error. I have secure boot on and BIOS is on UEFI. Not running any antivirus just on vanilla windows defender windows 11.

I'm having the same issue. I even installed a new Windows update and reinstalled Javlin anti-cheat, but nothing has worked yet.

Secondary issue, still required repair each game. It appears as though Win 8 compatability was checked on BF6.exe. Unchecking helped. Not sure how it got checked ON in the first place...

Hello friends! SOLUTION 🎂
Thanks for nice BF6 community, Penguin now has a solution to deliver, to many of the recent BF6 game crashes.
Create a new Windows 11 user
Run CMD as admin
net user "UserName" "Password"
/add net localgroup administrators "UserName" /add
Playing the game through new user did work for a user who had trouble launching the game since 3rd March.
Big Fan Of Nice Battlefield community!
Many thanks!

Same here, what a mess this game is. Windows 11. 2070 card

Same issue on my device since last update. Windows and BIOS up to date, secure boot active, did all the cmd and repair steps mentioned above.
Currently installing the newest nvidia driver as i had the hotfix version, could be javelin having issues with it
Edit: Nope, still same issue with newest driver. Event logs mention an error of EAAntiCheatService, so i think we know the reason. Both services get disabled in my services tab when i start the game due to an error mentioned in the log. After setting them back to startup automatic and trying to start them i get an error 87
Reinstalling the EAAntiCheatService as mentioned above fixes the problem until i close the game.Best part, the EAAntiCheatService is still inactive under services even though the game runs :D
EA, fix this

With the help of autoruns i found out:
File not found: eaanticheat.sys
system32\drivers\eaanticheat.sys
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EAAntiCheat
Seems like it got removed or corrupted
Dunno if its something old or the reason we have those issues now
Removed the entries, no fix

I noticed that when i repair the game, the following files inside the game folder get redownloaded:
as well as the one in EAAntiCheat
and the one in C:\Program Files\EA\AC
I made a backup of all of them, launched the game - works.
Closed the game, relaunched - error.
Copied the backup files over - works
replacing those 4 files with the backup makes the game run. Seems like after launch they get replaced by an older version
Seems like launching the game reverts the version from 07/03/2026 and the ones from repair work even though it seems to be an older anticheat version.

Hello friend!
Penguin curious about this, still trying to learn what's actually going on, does launching the game when it works change any of the files Windows 11 user access permissions? (Not having the issue over here to replicate it for testing.)
Right click Properties and Security tab: Read, Write, Modify
It should look something like this:
Do any of these values change after having successfully launched the game?

Before and after the launch both have only read and read an execute.
Same Permissen settings for my backup files that launch the game one time
I gave the 4 files (4 broken files that are downloaded each time i launch the game successfully) manually full permissions like on your picture, but i still get the same error when launching. Backup files with extra permissions work anyway and get replaced either way.
I assume the game downgrade those files upon launch, making javelin go "too old" after the next game start.
I mentioned above that those 4 files are from 07.03.2026, i think they are an older version, but based on the file version they seem newer i think. Either way, the game downloads older or broken files upon launch but game repair downloads the correct files to play the game once.
Broken EAAC infos
Working EAAC i use as my backup
Permissions for both files were as pictured here. With those permissions my backup works one time

What i noticed is the EAAnticheat service is broken. I think its the culprit for all the issues. The service is active when the game starts and after that it disables itself. After i replace those 4 files and start the game, this service suddenly gets reactivated (for the short launch of the game) and just as quick changes from automatic start do manuall and service state from running to dead.
I tried removing this file but it gets redownloaded either way.
"C:\Program Files\EA\AC\eaanticheat.gameservice.exe"
I downloaded the newest javelin standalone installer
With it, i can update the Battlefield 6 EAAC. Interesting part is:
Before starting the game, the file is 168mb big and wont launch without replacing the 4 files i replace every time now. After launching the game the files is 171.
