I am also experiencing intermittent issues with my Logitech G920 in F1 25 on PC. The wheel can lose force feedback, stop responding, or turn approximately 90° during a race. Sometimes the wheel continues working after the issue, while other times I have to completely restart F1 25.
The following troubleshooting has already been completed:
- G HUB
- Confirmed the Logitech G920 is detected and working normally in Logitech G HUB.
- G HUB is fully updated.
- G HUB continues to recognise the wheel when the problem occurs.
- Tested running F1 25 with G HUB completely closed; the issue still occurred.
- Windows / Device Manager
- Confirmed the G920 appears correctly in Device Manager.
- Both the standard USB G920 device and HID G920 device are present.
- Confirmed the correct hardware IDs:
- USB\VID_046D&PID_C262
- HID\VID_046D&PID_C262
- No yellow warning symbols or Device Manager errors occur, including when the problem happens.
- Windows Game Controllers (joy.cpl)
- With F1 25 closed, the G920 is detected normally.
- When F1 25 is launched, joy.cpl immediately changes to:
“Your game controller is not connected properly. Please verify that it is plugged into your computer.” - When F1 25 is closed, joy.cpl immediately returns to working normally.
- This happens when the game is launched, not just when entering a race.
- Registry
- Checked the G920 registry entry at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_046D&PID_C262 - Backed up the registry key before making any changes.
- Deleted the G920 OEM registry key and restarted the PC.
- After reconnecting the wheel, joy.cpl initially worked normally.
- However, launching F1 25 caused the same joy.cpl error again.
- Closing F1 25 restored joy.cpl immediately.
- Therefore, deleting/recreating the registry entry did not resolve the issue.
- Checked the G920 registry entry at:
- F1 25 game files
- Repaired F1 25 through the EA App.
- The issue persisted after repairing the game.
- USB connection
- The G920 is connected directly to a rear motherboard USB port.
- There is no USB hub, USB extension, or other intermediary device.
- The wheel has been tested using a direct connection.
- Power
- The G920 power supply is connected directly to a wall outlet.
- I previously tested this after suspecting a power issue, but the problem eventually returned.
- What happens during the actual failure
- The G920's power light remains on.
- There is no Windows USB disconnect/reconnect sound.
- The wheel does not perform a normal USB reconnection/calibration.
- Logitech G HUB continues to detect the G920 normally.
- Device Manager continues to show the G920 normally with no errors.
- The issue appears to be isolated to F1 25, as the Windows/G HUB detection of the wheel does not indicate a physical disconnection.
Current symptoms
The main issues are:
- Force feedback randomly disappears during a race, sometimes for several seconds before returning.
- The wheel can suddenly turn approximately 90°.
- Wheel/button inputs can stop being recognised by F1 25.
- In some cases, restarting F1 25 is required before the wheel works again.
- G HUB and Device Manager continue to recognise the wheel during these failures.
- joy.cpl works normally with F1 25 closed but reports that the controller is not connected properly as soon as F1 25 is launched.
The issue appears to be specific to F1 25 rather than a complete Windows/USB disconnection of the G920.
