Sprint Race ending

My team career mode, was in a sprint race at Miami. I finished the race in first and my team mate legitimately worked his way up into 7th position by the time I crossed the start finish line for the checkered flag. He was then bumped back to 17th as well as all the other competitors who had made progress for final results. Watched the replay and my teammate  would have finished 5-7 seconds behind me as well as the other drivers + or - a second off his time. No penalty was given to them.
