I have tried multiple times to start a two player career with a friend but whenever we attempt to start the session my game crashes (just turns straight off, no error), his then gets stuck in an endl...

I've had this exact issue. My friend's profile loads as no-name in the game lobby, despite me inviting them from the in-game friends list which displays their EA name. Then as soon as they join and their name doesn't appear, my game just completely breaks. No access to any online features without my game freezing.
This is incredibly frustrating and the Support staff have been no help whatsoever. I've been trying to fix this since early access launch. Just put through a dispute through my bank now until i know the issue has been fixed, then i may consider buying it again
