On the 31st of August I installed some windows updates that i suspected were the cause for FC25 not launching. I had played it earlier that day and it ran fine, the only difference was the windows update.
The game window pops up briefly (after the Anti cheat loads), flashes the logo, then abruptly disappears before showing this error:
I uninstalled the game on steam, uninstalled the Ea app, reinstalled them both and still got the same error. I even tried the quick fixes I found from a google search; Verify game files on Steam, Clear the EA App cache, Restart Everything.... But none worked.
I installed the EA app copy of EA FC24 to see it got the same problem... and that launched without issue.
I tried installing all the windows updates from that day, but one had an error which made me think it's a permanent update.
I checked community post on Steam for a solution and found a post talking about a similar update... though they didn't have any issue uninstalling them, it was proof enough that the windows update was the culprit... since I can't uninstall it, my only hope to play the game is through a fix
