Same issue here, bro. Each ball control and touch is an almost guaranteed loss of possession, heavily slow animations even with small, lean, fast and agile players.
Trying to hold a defender behind your back will only get you bullied away from the ball (unless you get fouled) then punished with a counter attack where passes and shots will just nutmeg through your defenders whenever you try to block them and clean tackles will keep sending the ball back to the opponent's feet.
Defenders casually step away from attackers and leave open gaps upon player switch, then will only respond to the joystick input and start moving to the correct direction after a huge delay.
Also overall positioning is terrible, attackers run straight into defenders during input delayed passes instead of remaining in gaps, and that's only when the game chooses to respect your joystick direction input and not pick any another target than the one you were aiming for during decisive moments. Even with 99 pace, your players will never outrun defenders during through passes, unless they are offside of course.
Most 1v1 chances created from possession hold and slow build-up will drastically delay the shooting and hit the post when your opponent's goalkeeper doesn't make outstanding saves, leaving you with 6+ expected goals but no luck.
There's nothing to be done for now but hope for a new update.
