Hi, some thoughts on this issue.
In the first season players with less than 12 months would not resign.
However I was able to renew a couple of players with just over 12 months left on their contract. Both these players had high morale and were happy with their play time.
2 players I could not renew at 13 months let me renew when the new season started and and they got to 12 months. Again both players happy with their playtime etc.
I think this feature actually does work but it's hard to negotiate outside of 12 months or less left or if the players are unhappy.
It could do with tweaking but I actually think it works and forces you to maybe considering cashing in on players rather than hoarding them.
