Can't control players in online game (PC)

Sometimes when I jump into an online game, all of my players are standing still and have a white indicator above their head. I play on pc and it's like the a.i takes control of the players. But they keep standing still and I can't do anything to fix this. Please how do I fix this, because it keeps happening.
