Career mode Archetype Bug

I was 84 rated and was at level 29. I resetted my attribute points to change a few things. At no point did it say that I was going to lose attribute points. 
I resetted my attribute points and now the highest rating I can achieve is 79.  
Feels like I’ve just wasted my time playing career mode. 
Now that I’ve checked, many people have reported the same issue. 
it’s very unfair because I’ve only been given 164 attribute points despite being level 29.
