Ive had the same issue on fc25 then looked it up and it said it wasn't going to get fixed as FC26 was coming out and would be fixed for 26??? Still no luck??
When you pay good money for something that doesnt work, its very frustrating!!!

Seriously, I don't know how a blocking issue like this hasn't been resolved yet; it's been around for past editions of FC, and you literally can't play Career Mode on Nintendo Switch.
I even tagged the Community Manager, but nothing.
